STUDENT QUESTION
How do freshers get their first IT job?
SHORT ANSWER
With proof, not just a certificate. Learn one skill properly, build two or three projects you can explain, make a one-page resume and practise interviews. Then apply widely.
Over chaiEvery job asks freshers for experience. Projects are how you get experience before your first job.
A LITTLE MORE
A little more detail.
- Pick one skillData analytics, testing, web development, Python or digital marketing. One skill done well beats five half-done.
- Build projectsA dashboard, a small website, a test report. Put them online, so an interviewer can open them on a phone.
- A one-page resumeYour projects at the top. For a fresher, projects often say more than marks.
- Practise the interviewExplain your project out loud, answer the basic technical questions, and practise the HR round: "Tell me about yourself." (No, not your full life story.)
- Apply widelyJob portals, LinkedIn, company career pages and walk-in drives. Every interview, even a "no", is practice.
